Vintage Los Castillo Bird Brooch Azurite Inlay Brass Dove #17 Mexico Pin RARE. Very hard to find. I did not clean it and left it as I purchased it. Stamped as shown. Fast shipping. Thank you! Gorgeous! In good vintage condition–wear is consistent with age and use. The brass has areas of wear, but the bird is still so stunning. I believe the inlay is azurite, as this was a common stone used by Los Castillo, but malachite may also be part of the inlay. A wonderful, rare piece for any collection! These clip earrings are 2″ long x 1 3/4″ wide x 1/4″ thick, and both have a “U” shape design. They weigh 43 grams.
One ‘scrape’ noted on the surface of the stone. I believe this to be natural. Stone is chalcedony. Bracelet band is graduated from 1/2″ at the front to 1″ at the rear. MSM mid century look. Photographs are of the item listed and I am the photographer.
Chato (Jorge) Castillo was one of the Castillo brothers who worked in the 1930s for William Spratling. He is known for his technical expertise and his design talent. Fine porcelain, glass will likely be mint unless I describe otherwise.
