STUNNING VINTAGE SYNTHETIC PURPLE SAPPHIRE RING , DONE IN SOLID 14K YELLOW GOLD WITH WARM ROSY HINT TO IT. THERE IS A REMNANTS OF THE STAMP INSIDE THE BAND, BUT WAS ALSO TESTED FOR 14K GOLD . THE STONE IS APPROX 17X14MM IN SIZE. VERY UNUSUAL MODERNIST DESIGN , WITH ORNATE GOLD SETTING AND AN “ EAST WEST” STONE PLACEMENT IN A VERY SLEEK TENSION SETTING . This ring is circa 1960s. It’s done in 10k solid gold, and the mounting is very different. The 5.5 mm Akoya pearl has great lustre and what looks to be thick nacre. I see no blemishes. The setting has two squared offset bars of gold underneath the pearl which bypass each other, and two more squared bars of gold which rise up on each side in a cathedral fashion and make the pearl look “tension set” with no prongs!
