Art Deco/Retro–Deco era “Duette” convertible brooch which features a classic asymmetrical fan design. It is a genuine Coro unsigned production piece identified by the patent number 2143538 which is stamped on the frame. This patent was granted in 1939 to Oscar Placco for this “Separable Brooch” mechanism. It is a matched set with both sides stamped with a 10 meaning they are made for each other and fit seamlessly together.
