Victorian mourning black jewellery was introduced in 1880 by Queen Victoria after her husband Prince Albert died. The Queen was wearing black clothes and black mourning jewellery. The beads are connected by metal hooks/bead connectors. The beads are not hand cut but moulded, which made such guard chain less expensive. Diameter of the beads is 1 cm x 8 mm approximately.
