This beautiful antique brooch dates to the late Victorian / early Edwardian era (circa 1895–1905) and is crafted in solid 14k gold. The design features an elegant openwork heart-like scroll motif set with luminous seed pearls surrounding a rich deep purple amethyst. The amethyst is securely bezel set and displays an antique oval mixed cut, showing the soft flashes and character typical of hand-cut stones from the turn of the century. A charming feature of this piece is its convertible design—it can be worn both as a brooch or a pendant thanks to the integrated bail at the top. The reverse bears a maker’s mark “L & A” in oval cartouches as well as 14K for gold content.
