Both pendant and earrings are discontinued, making these pieces difficult to find, especially as a complete set! The pieces are pre-owned, in near-mint condition. The only sign of use is a small amount of wear visible in the rhodium on the back of the pendant – see photos.
Alva Studios created this pre Colombian pendant from the Cleveland Museum of Art using the original Mayan artifact. It’s gold electroplated metal alloy cast with a loop on the back ready for your favorite chain. Alva Studios was known In the mid-century, for replicating high quality Museum pieces until the early 1980s when they went out of business. I’ve included an ad in the photos from 1972. The pendant has small pins in the feet, mounting it to a small wooden platform for display. I’m assuming the pins could be clipped off so the pendant can be worn. 3 in tall, 2 in wide.
